Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, has been actively promoting the state as a prime destination for global investments during his participation in the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. In a series of interactions, Naidu highlighted the state's comprehensive approach to industrial development, attracting investments in various sectors, and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.
On his first day at the WEF, Naidu engaged with Indian Ambassador Mridul Kumar, seeking support for Swiss investments in Andhra Pradesh. He emphasized the state's focus on sectors like pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, heavy machinery, electronics, rail components, textiles, and research, all of which are crucial for industrial growth.
Naidu also discussed the state's commitment to skill development among the youth, recognizing the global demand for a skilled workforce. This aligns with his broader strategy to promote AI, creative industries, and entrepreneurship.
One of the key highlights of Naidu's interactions was his collaboration with Kishore Lulla, the founder and chairman of Eros Innovations. Lulla praised Naidu as the 'Davos Man Chandrababu' for his efforts in presenting investment opportunities in AI-driven sectors. The Chief Minister emphasized the government's encouragement of investments in digital media, virtual production, gaming, animation, and film technology, aiming to create substantial employment opportunities for the youth.
Naidu also addressed the Telugu diaspora from 20 countries, urging them to embrace entrepreneurship. He announced a substantial corpus fund of Rs 50 crore and support through the Rata Tata Innovation Hub. Additionally, he highlighted initiatives like AP First, a research center in Tirupati, and emphasized Andhra Pradesh's ambitious goal of attracting Rs 22 lakh crore in investments to generate 20 lakh jobs.
In a breakfast session organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Naidu showcased Andhra Pradesh's achievements in attracting a significant share of India's total investments. He cited examples such as Google's AI data center in Visakhapatnam, Green Ammonia projects in Kakinada, and development plans for ports, airports, and space cities. Naidu also emphasized India's position as the safest and most preferred destination for foreign investments globally, with the country rapidly transforming into a strong and resilient economy.
During sessions focused on entrepreneurship, Naidu promoted the 'one family-one entrepreneur' policy and discussed collaborations with IBM and Google to train youth in AI, quantum technologies, and cybersecurity. This comprehensive approach to investment and skill development is a key aspect of Naidu's strategy to position Andhra Pradesh as a leading destination for global investments.
Furthermore, Naidu met with global industrial leaders to explore opportunities in the tourism and hospitality sectors. He highlighted the potential for Godavari river cruise tourism and identified other areas like Konaseema, Gandikota, Araku, and Lambasingi as promising destinations. Additionally, Naidu discussed the establishment of a Dubai food cluster in Andhra with the UAE Minister Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi.
Naidu's four-day tour in Davos concluded with a reflection on the effectiveness of his interactions with global leaders. He met with Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran to discuss projects in tourism, sports cities, the Quantum Valley in Amaravati, and solar power initiatives in Kurnool. This comprehensive and strategic approach to promoting Andhra Pradesh's global brand and investment opportunities has been a significant focus of Naidu's leadership.
