Bold claim: DC’s outreach just got a lot more exciting with a fresh, official glimpse of Supergirl’s suit—and it’s stunning. As the new DC movie universe continues to expand, attention now shifts to Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, following Superman’s successful revival of the franchise. After multiple leaks over the past months, the first official look at Supergirl’s costume has arrived, and two notable design tweaks elevate the overall look from her earlier appearance in Superman.
Fans previewed the costume at CCXP, with Omelete capturing in-person footage. The most noticeable updates are a larger S emblem and a belt redesigned to be solid gold, replacing the prior layered red belt. Close-up photos in the linked post reveal the cape’s full silhouette for the first time—something that was obscured when Supergirl wore a coat in her Superman debut. These refinements subtly sharpen the suit’s lines and give it a more streamlined, polished presence.
All signs point to Milly Alcock embodying Supergirl in a full trailer soon. A holiday teaser would be timely ahead of the film’s June 26, 2026 release, though DC might opt to start 2026 with the first footage to kick off the new year in style.
Directed by Craig Gillespie and scripted by Ana Nogueira, the film marks Alcock’s complete introduction as Supergirl and also introduces Jason Momoa’s Lobo. While much of the ensemble remains under wraps, confirmed cast members include Eve Ridley as Ruthye, Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem, Emily Beecham as Alura, and David Krumholtz as Zor-El.
The movie adapts Tom King, Bilquis Evely, and Matheus Lopes’s modern classic Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which follows a cosmic quest of revenge. Expect certain deviations—such as the inclusion of Lobo—that deviate from the source material, and curiosity remains about how the film will connect to Superman and the broader DC universe crafted by James Gunn and Peter Safran.
Supergirl lands in theaters on June 26, 2026. What are your thoughts? Join the discussion in the comments below and spark the conversation in the ComicBook Forum.
